Rajinikanth in Baasha 2
Things can’t get any better for Rajinikanth now, with Endhiran’s release just around the corner. The Superstar is reportedly planning to finish the newly-added live portions to the animated film Sultan The Warrior directed by his daughter Soundarya after taking a short break in the Himalayas. According to trade pundits, after working on a mammoth film like Endhiran, Rajini will select only a reliable subject for his next film. This has led to speculation running high that the actor is keen to work on the remake of his cult film Baasha.
Released in 1995, Baasha, an action thriller was a blockbuster movie which created new records at the box office. The film was directed by Suresh Krishna and produced under former minister R.M.Veerappan’s film banner Sathya Movies. Nagma was paired opposite the Superstar and Deva’s music turned out to be an instant chartbuster. Apparently, the producers have been toying with the idea of remaking this movie for quite sometime now.
Rajinikanth recently took part in the R.M Veerapans family marriage function. While speaking on the occasion, “Many have earned profit from my films, some have incurred loss. One among them is R.M.V. Films like ‘Baasha’ can be produced only by R.M.V”. R.M.V made use of the opportunity and iss now busy with the works for producing ‘Baasha 2’.
Our Sources reveal that, Rajini has also given his nod but he is particular that one of the younger lot of popular directors be entrusted with the job of remaking. Word has it that directors Murugadas and Hari are on the actor’s radar for this role. The story for the film ‘Baasha 2’ is under discussion. The film will come under new title and new story. We have to wait for the news to get confirmed.
